History
In February of 1910, seventeen civic-minded citizens of Turbotville showed faith in the future of the town by investing the sum of $25,000 to form the Turbotville National Bank. In July of the same year, a building located on Main Street was erected which was to serve as the home of the bank for nearly half a century. With Joseph Milnor appointed as the bank’s first Cashier, a position later renamed President, the Turbotville National Bank was in operation.
However, Mr. Milnor resigned soon after and was replaced by George Youngman on March 1, 1911. Until his death in 1954, the bank continued to grow and progress under the watchful eye of Mr. Youngman. The position of Cashier was filled by James Foust who previously served as the bank’s Assistant Cashier. In 1959, in order to better serve the needs of a growing community, the bank moved from its original location to where it stands today. Mr. Foust continued to serve as Cashier until his retirement in 1993. Upon Mr. Foust’s retirement, P. Thomas Yoder Jr. was appointed President & CEO, an employee since 1970. Under Mr. Yoder’s leadership, the Bank continued to experience success amid an ever-changing banking environment. In 2017, Mr. Yoder retired from the Bank with the current management group in place.
For over 100 years, the bank has strived to live up to its motto of “Large enough to serve you, small enough to know you, and strong enough to protect you.” As the bank moves forward, our priority will be to continue to provide our community with the excellent service it deserves.
